In life there are so many ways that one can do to overcome situations. Others make it through their level of education while others through their good marriages .With Tryness Kazembe the case is different. She is married and has five children. The first one is an administrator at a secondary school and she was born in 1984, the second born is doing in animal health at Natural Resources College, the third born is in form four, the fourth born is in form 2 and the last born is in standard 2.
Previously Tryness use to struggle in her life and family due to financial crisis that was going around them. School fees for their children were a big issue by then she use to have a mini hawker. The whole family use to depend on one source, in this case the husband.
One day the story for Tryness changed. She narrated the story like this: It was in the year 2004 when I heard a knock on my house door, when I opened I saw a man he introduced himself as a worker of opportunity Bank of Malawi. He told me everything about the bank and all the products that the Bank offers. I was convinced and later discussed it with my husband. The following morning I went to the bank to open a savings a account. I use to save every little amount I got from the hawker.
Since that time Tryness has been saving and now she is saving k100, 333.00 in her account.
“I thank God by then, it was only one child who was in secondary school”. This helped her to save more. It was this time that she ventured into pole selling business. The business involves going for orders once a month at Dzalanyama Kirk range and book a 10 tanner vehicle to carry the pole to the market. Tryness is now a free woman. She has two workers who help her in every day to day activity especially when she is out for orders.
Mrs. Kazembe only managed to obtain junior certificate of education and has no any other plan to continue with her education. However she attended a financial education training which was facilitated by Opportunity Bank Malawi Transformation team. Instead of going back to school I concentrate much on my businesses to save more money for my children’s school fees
The family has their own house, has electricity, piped water and the roof is made of iron sheets. Although the living standard for this family seem to de good they have a lot of things to desire, good and quality education for their children, good and quality house hold and to expand in business.
Previously the husband use to do everything alone but now she is part of every development that takes place in the home.
Tryness is a living testimony in her area since people are now able to see how her life has been transformed. She has managed to build three houses with her savings.
